To live out one of our cooperative principles, Concern for Community, B-Y Electric employees volunteered for Habitat for Humanity on January 31st. We became interested in the project because B-Y Director Rick Cheloha is the Construction Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity of Clay and Yankton Counties is a Christian housing ministry that works with low-income families who desire to own a safe and affordable place to live. They have built and sold affordable homes for 44 families in need since 1996.
Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Rebecca Meier said they build the house to fit the family, however, the family for this house fell through so they are accepting applications. The house is located in Yankton. Find more information at https://habitatclayyankton.org/now-accepting-applications-for-clay-county/.
B-Y Electric employees had a great time volunteering for a great cause!
