B-Y Electric is not only committed to keeping our employees safe, we are also committed to keeping everyone in our communities safe from the dangers of electricity. We do this by hosting youth and adult electrical safety events. In conjunction with May being electrical safety month, we borrowed South Dakota Rural Electric Association’s high voltage trailer.
We visited Springfield Elementary school on May 16th and talked safety with the entire school. Linemen Travis Gause and Sean Kafka, Electrician Wes Kloucek, and Marketing & Communication Coordinator Jaclyn Arens led the safety presentation.
On May 17th, we partnered with Yankton Emergency Response to put on our High Voltage Electrical Safety Training for all Yankton county first responders. General Manager Stephanie Horst, Operations Manager Ken Carda, and Linemen Gunnar Dally and Alex Caba led the safety training.
On May 19th, we partnered with the Tyndall Fire Department to put on our High Voltage Electrical Safety Training for all Bon Homme county first responders. Stephanie Horst, Jaclyn Arens, and Linemen Tyler Suess, Alex Caba, and Sean Kafka led the safety training.
The first responder training sessions focused on electrical hazards responders may encounter on the scene of an emergency. First responders earned EMS continuing credit hours for their participation. Contact our office at (605)
